ABOUT THE CDR
The Canadian Design Resource was conceived as the first digital platform to nurture and promote Canadian design and material culture. Founded by designers Todd Falkowsky and Michael Erdmann, the CDR aims to be a complete record of design in the country from ancient aboriginal design to contemporary work, and has become the official home-base for everything Canadian design.
We work to accomplish the following:
1. Build communities of fans and spark dialogue around work.
2. Inspire new work and collaboration. Designers can see what creative neighbours are doing, have done and respond.
3. Document history. To be an extensive and accessible resource that archives details that had previously been lost.
Since its launch, the site has become the most comprehensive gallery of Canadian design in the world. It has broad appeal and attracts a wide audience, from design students and educators to designers and design fans, creative directors and editors, bargain hunters and collectors.
