Man On the Moon

40 years ago today, the Apollo 11 mission launched. Four days later Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins landed on the surface of the moon. And then, on July 24th 1969 the astronauts returned to earth and entered biological isolation.
On Friday August 8th, 1969 the Toronto Daily Star published this special insert featuring Neil Armstrong posing on the surface of the moon as well as a series of photographs documenting the Apollo 11 mission from start to finish.

I actually still have that special insert. Plenty of nice photos and great stories.
