Craft has struggled within the hierarchy of the formal arts and has regretfully, according to the style makers, occupied a lowly position. This acclaimed item was one of many pieces produced by the factory that outside forces, usually from Ontario, deemed worthy of the title “design”. The creative powerhouse of Jaques Garnier had begun to work for La Céramique de Beauce and his talent for ceramics marked an important shift in the companies history.
