Ok…I know that these are not premier examples of graphic design but they are great anyway. They are little graphic time-capsules that take us back to the breaking point of computers and the beautiful naivety, where no one could predict what was about to come. Raw and a little thin by todays standards, but still charming and worth a spot in the resource.

Great post! This old-fashion-ads are a good inspiration to do any electro-retro-design. The direct mention of the rival companies is shocking nowadays. And, of course, that amazing guy ‘Keeping up with you’…

Wonderful post, thanks for the inspiration. Commodore was certainly huge in the dawning of the computer age, and these ads match that optimism.

My God the money I spent on early computing. I had an Atari back then and a $6 an hour account on Compuserve. Back then Compuserve was nothing but a text-based server and I racked up hundreds of dollars every month doing nothing but surfing text.
Thanks for a trip back into the early 80′s and the beginning of my computer addiction. Someday my kids will look back on this era and see how primitive we are.

When I was young, I had a computer – ZX Spectrum. Very pleasant memories. Thank you for this mood!
