Plastic Tube Chair
June 26th, 2008
Design: Rick Ivey
Manufacturer: Self Made
Date: 2008
I think that most designers, while wandering the halls of a big renovation box store, imagine alternate uses for the common things they see there and Ivey is no different. Inspired by the ideas of Duchamp, he combines the found and the spirit of surrealism to create this thought provoking work. Not designed as beautiful, or even useful but as a inspiration for all of us to be creative and playful with the world around us, remixing and combining found objects into new uses, styles and departures.
