Green Over Grey Living Walls – British Columbia

Living walls are one of the most important tools to revive the cities we live in, a technology that gives buildings and urban spaces a part in the march towards sustainability. The living wall design is simple and straightforward, offering a range of benefits like improved building performance (less footprint), improved air quality, and less wear on buildings exteriors (I imagine it as a safety blanket for key architectural treasures, wrapping them in plants as a way to avoid erosion from pollution). One of the biggest advantages is at the neighbourhood level, where green walls could be used to drape over the poor architecture of our cities, provide the dual advantage of greening our planet and reducing the architectural load of city life, concrete jungles into an oasis.
