This is such a fantastic logo, I would love to know more of the background and who actually designed it.

i think it would be stronger if the wordmark below had a normal ‘G’ and didn’t reflect the mark above. It’s too repetitive. The mark is strong by itself and doesn’t need that added element within the type.
How long has this logo been in use?
