I love finding these little design treasures, the everyday items that are often overlooked and ignored. These holders predate the paper sleeves that are used today which prevent the heat transferring to our hand. What a wonderful form, meant to be kept and reused many times, clear on its use and function. The firm handle elevates the disposable paper cup into a full-fledged coffee mug. These are waiting to be reissued!

These little cup holders are in use in China right now. I saw them for sale and being used by people at the school I was at. As for the clarity of their purpose, well, that’s another issue. My friend failed to make the connection and was using one as a cup until we pointed and laughed.
