Canadian Tire tent display

Walking through Canadian Tire today, I was instantly drawn to this display. First by its cuteness, but then by its usability. Over a dozen tents set up on one shelf display, all different brands, complete with flies, tent pegs and all (on green turf for a nice touch of context). It’s easy to see the benefit of this: the store doesn’t need to use more than 1 shelf of valuable real estate in order to showcase multiple models of merchandise that would ordinarily take up a significant amount space. From a customer perspective, one can examine the features, pros and cons of each without having to remember what the last tent was like. I suppose the downside is the inability to crawl inside. But in this world so cramped with choices, where it can be so difficult to make a decision on one product over another, I like the miniatures. Plus, the cuteness…!
